General description
Horse serum produced from adult horses is homogeneous and has low levels of polyamine oxidase. It is metabolically stable and favours cell proliferation. Horse serum is an alternative to bovine serum and is a source of growth factors and hormones.
Request
Horse serum has been used as a supplement to the culture medium in pheochromocytoma cell cultures, cortical slice cultures, retinal cells, and myotubes.
Other notes
Donor Horse Serum is sourced from controlled donor herds located in the USA. Horse serum is high in protein and low in trace metals compared to fetal bovine serum. Donor Horse Serum is suitable for use in diagnostic assays, as an adjunct in mycoplasma growth and assay media, and for the cultivation of hematopoietic stem cells and neural cells.
Preparation note
Collected from a controlled herd.
