The test consists in detecting the presence and of DNA of Mycoplasma pneumoniae bacteria which can cause mycoplasmosis. The disease is transmitted mainly by droplet infection but it also concluded that ticks can be carriers of this bacteria.
Symptoms of the disease are differentiated, from a minor infection of upper respiratory tracts to acute pneumonia, besides it can be accompanied by complications in respect of the nervous system, heart, joints or pancreas, quite frequent are skin symptoms in form of rash, erythema, ulcerative stomatitis or conjunctivitis.
The course of mycoplasma infection may be asymptomatic in case of 10%-20% of people. In 60%-80% of cases it develops as upper respiratory tract infection or inflammation of the trachea and bronchi. In some cases, recurring pneumonia may develop or complications in respect of the nervous system, heart, joints or pancreas. Typical infection symptoms include: small fever, catarrh, headaches and sore throat, chronic dry cough.
