The test allows to detect IgM and/ or IgG class antibodies specific for Chlamydia trachomatis in human plasma. Chlamydia trachomatis is an etiology factor for infections of urethra, cause of trachoma and cute conjunctivitis. The presence of C. trachomatis has a world-wide aspect and it is a pathogen that also can be responsible to infertility both women and men.
Most of the infections have an asymptomatic form at the beginning of infection. A positive test result indicates the presence of antibodies directed against Chlamydia trachomatis in a relevant class of antibodies.
