Chlamydophila pneumoniae – quality PCR

The test consists of detecting the presence of DNA of bacteria Chlamydophila pneumonia in swabs of the upper respiratory tracts. This bacteria is transmitted via droplet method and is a recognized etiology factor for infections of upper and lower airways. Besides, it may transmit to other parts of the body and infect nervous tissue, brain, muscles, kidneys, urogenital system, liver, joints, epithelium of blood vessels as well as the immunology system. These bacteria may cause, among others, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis and pharyngitis. Ch. pneumoniae is also suspected of taking part in pathogenesis of coronary heart disease, asthma, Alzheimer's disease and even atheromatos. Many years' observations indicate that people infected with this bacteria more frequently suffer from heart attack, stroke, hypertension and joint pains. Most infections are asymptomatic or of benign course. This test is characterized by very high sensitivity and it is highly specific. It detects a carriage state as well as active infections within a few days after getting infected, which allows for early start of a treatment.

Test material:

respiratory swab(a swab of the oropharynx), bronchial lavage, sputum, nasal secretions

Transfer method:

a set for swabbing respiratory tracts

Testingmethod:

quality PCR

Delivery date:

up to 7 business days

Chlamydophila pneumonia (Chlamydia pneumonia) is a parasite intercellular bacteria, which transmits via droplet method. The ability of sticking to the surface of target cells and developing the basic corpuscles (very immune spore form with minimum metabolism), facilitates its penetration inside cells. It only causes infections among people – no animal reservoirs of this bacteria have been identified. It causes infections of upper and lower airways – it is estimated that it is the cause of 20% of pneumonia cases. It may also transmit to other parts of the body, it can infect nervous tissue, brain, muscles, kidneys, urogenital system, liver, joints, epithelium of blood vessels. Besides, as a result of chronic infections and inflammatory conditions, it may destroy the immunology system of the organism. Ch. Pneumonia is also is also suspected of taking part in pathogenesis of coronary heart disease, asthma, Alzheimer's disease and even atheromatous. Many years observations indicate that people infected with this bacteria more frequently suffer from heart attack, stroke, hypertension and joint pains.
